First time Eli met his little brother Caden.
Going in for a kiss, this made my heart melt. Eli was so sweet to Caden.
Eli missed us so much. He has a lot of fun going through every single drawer and cabinet in my room. He also loved all the cookies at the snack bar!

And we're home!
Here's how the story went . . .
On Monday, May 21st, I went to my weekly check up appointment. Dr. Harward wanted to see if I had begun to dilate. I was at 3 cm. He told me to check myself in to Labor and Delivery around 7:30 am the next morning just to see if I was beginning to progress at all. I was given the okay to walk or exercise a little to help induce labor since Caden was measuring so big and healthy.
The next morning, I checked myself in while Jon stayed home with Eli. At around 8:30 am I was told that I was dilated to a 4. Dr. Harward did not want to send me home since I had progressed over night and was have mild contractions. He told me that they were going to start me on the Patosin since it could take a few hours for things to start working. I hurried and called my Mom and Jon and told them the news! He also poped my water. I was so nervous it would hurt! I was numb when they did it with Eli. Turns out it did not hurt one bit, in fact, I hardly felt anything. So much water came out that the nurses and Dr. Harward were all joking about it! I was amazed!! Once the Patosin started the contractions immediately started to come hard and close. I called Jon and told him to get over here as fast as he could. They had just checked me a few minutes after the Patosin had started and I went from a 4 to a 9 in a matter of minutes. These contractions were almost unbearable! Nurses and Dr. Harward kept checking on me to make sure I was okay since the contractions were so strong and only seconds apart. Jon came just in time for me to get the epidural. They had stopped the Patosin so I could get an epidural. By the time the anesthesiologist made it to my room I was already a 10 and you could see little Caden's head. She had me sit up and turn to the side. I could hardly hold it together when a contraction came. She injected me with something very strong to hopefully ease the pain from the contractions and then injected the regular epidural. Each contraction began to feel less and less painful.
Moments later, Dr. Harward said it's time to start pushing. By now, I was so drained and completely exhausted that I did not think I had any strength left to push. A nurse and Jon helped hold me up and we began. 20 minutes later Caden had come into the world. It was an amazing feeling to have him stay in the room with us and getting to hold hold him for as long as I wanted immediately afterwards. He was perfect weighing in at 7 pounds 2.4 ounces, 20 inches long at 10:37 am.
Grandma Heidi and Aunt Taylee were already driving up and would be arriving around 8 pm. They were so excited to meet him. Tiersha brought Big Brother Eli over shortly. He was not sure what to think at first but he gave Caden a few kisses and smiled while he looked at him. It was a very special moment.
Once Grandma and Taylee arrived we were able to give Caden his first bath. We are so glad Caden is finally here with us!
